My name is Norma Hales I am a West Australian now living in Victoria.
I came to Victoria because the Elizabethean Theartre Trust Orchestra had its
head office in Melbourne.and I was a violinist in that Orchestra, which
accompanied the Australian Opera and the Australian Ballet
I also played with the Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra when Hellen Reddy
did her first concert, on her return to Australia which was held at the
Festival theartre Victoria
Played for the Cyclone Tracey Disaster Fund Concert held in St Kilda
Victoria and also with the Pop Group The Bee Gee's in concert in the
Canberra Theartre ACT
Have played with many other groups In 1983 I started and Conducted the
Geelong Community Orchestra
I also became a Suzuki Violin Teacher after Ill health forced my resignation
from touring with the orchestra.
My husband Lawrence and I had 6 children and now have 10 grandchildren.
I have retired from Orchestral playing and continue playing at my church.
I spend a lot of my time on the Internet now, with different business and
communicating face to face through my Video Suite of products with people
all over the world.
I find this very good and helpful, as my health does not allow me to get
out as much as I used to and I no longer feel shut off from people.
Some of the things I liked doing or following is Horse Racing, Trotts,
Tennis, Swimming and in my younger days Snorkelling and fishing. I also
liked walks in bush land and being at the seaside where I lived for a number
of years.
I like meeting new people and being of service where ever I can
